Step 1: Fill out an application for an Emirates ID

The Emirates ID cards will now be considered more important than the residence visa stickers. This means that Emirates ID cards will now be the primary proof of residency in the UAE.

Once you receive your medical fitness certificate via courier, you can now apply for your residence visa renewal. If you have renewed the permit online, the registered courier company will pick up your passport from the address that you have provided on the application form. But if the process is completed by an immigration center, you will then have to submit your passport at the company’s courier center.
